A RUSSIAN born artist will be exhibiting her paintings on Sunday at the Pentland Hotel in Thurso along with others from a local arts collective.
The North Coast Artists had great success with an inaugural sale of work at the hotel and have now taken new blood into their ranks in the form of Tatiana Kireeva-Cameron – a professional artist from Novomoskovsk, in the Tula region of Russia.

“I have worked hard to develop my own style and technique of painting in oils, watercolour, acrylics, pastels, charcoal and pencil,” she said. “I really enjoy painting portraits and landscapes and am happy to accept commissions.”
Tatiana graduated with an art degree from Bashkin University in Ufa. Becoming a professional artist in 1994, she has exhibited in Russia, Germany, Italy and the UK. She studied under N I Pingachov and the prolific Russian master Ramil Rashidovich Latipov.
For two years Tatiana worked as a teacher in art and graphics at a high school in Ufa. She now lives in Thurso and will be exhibiting alongside David Rosie, Elaine Rapson-Grant, Ian Pearson, Jackie Newton, Sheelagh Paterson, Dee Prentice and Penny Irvine as part of the North Coast Artists collective.
The group will be selling their work – including paintings, glass sculptures, jewellery, felting, textiles and gift items – in the ballroom of the Pentland Hotel this Sunday (October 20) from noon until 7pm. The hotel’s carvery will also be open throughout the afternoon.
The event is free and all are welcome to attend to see the works and have an informal chat with the artists.
