Lotus to strengthen dealer network in the east, hires David McIntyre as director for China and Asia Pacific

Lotus has just appointed David McIntyre as its regional director for Asia Pacific and China, with hopes of creating a strong and comprehensive retail network across these markets. The British carmaker, now under the stewardship of Geely, has set in motion its plans to achieve significant growth on a global level.
McIntyre will be based in Hangzhou, China, and is tasked to grow and strengthen the brand’s regional sales, marketing and aftersales team, all of which will result in improved volume growth and customer service.
He brings with him 25 years of experience in the luxury and performance cars, with leading roles in Germany, Latin America and the UK, working for brands such as Porsche, Aston Martin, Bentley and McLaren. For the last 15 years he has worked in the Asia Pacific region, including periods in South Korea and China.
Outside of work, McIntyre’s passion is in motorsports. He was the 2017 China GT amateur champion in GT4 racing and the following year was runner-up in the 2018 China GT series. Sounds like the right man for the right job, no? His other interests include yacht-racing and learning to fly.
“Performance cars are definitely in my blood, and Asia-Pacific and China have been my home for the last 15 years. This role presents an irresistible challenge, and I look forward to playing a part in writing a new chapter in the Lotus success story,” McIntyre said.
