The upcoming Porsche Taycan has been spotted many, many times ahead of its big reveal in Frankfurt in September. There’s not much camouflage left on this prototype mule, save for some hideous red masking around the tail lights (which admittedly do a good job at tricking the eyes).

This could perhaps be one of the final few test runs before the all-electric Taycan goes on sale. Design-wise, things remain fairly faithful to the Mission E Concept that was first previewed in 2015, featuring the same low-slung, 911-esque profile. Only the door mirrors and flush-fitting door handles have been added, and the front intake has been made larger. No fake exhaust exits can be seen, thankfully.

The Porsche Taycan will be coming to Malaysia next year

Porsche previously revealed that the Taycan would get two permanently synchronous electric motors that provide a total system output of over 440 kW (600 PS). That allows the EV to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds, while the run to 200 km/h is achieved below 12 seconds.

On a full charge, it’s capable of providing a range of 500 km (based on NEDC cycle), and with fast charging on its 800-volt system, 100 km of range is available after just four minutes of charging. An earlier report states three variants will be available, including 4S and Turbo models. Who’s excited for the Taycan?
