A look back at an amazing weekend filled with all things watches.
This past weekend saw the global watch community descend on warm, sunny South Florida for the second iteration of Watches & Wonders Miami. Unlike most major watch events, Watches & Wonders is open to consumers and enthusiasts, not just retailers and press, giving it a completely different feel from the likes of SIHH and Baselworld. Watches & Wonders was hosted in the Miami Design District, home to more than a dozen top-tier watch boutiques, augmented this year by the introduction of a pop-up space that allowed another 14 brands to participate. There was truly something for everyone and tons of collectors turned out to see the latest 2019 novelties during their first trip to the United States.
In addition to the boutiques and pop-up booths, there was tons of other programming to enjoy too. We were on the ground all weekend and starting things off with a live episode of HODINKEE Radio on Friday morning, with Miami Design District founder Craig Robins as our guest, and continued to host and participate in panel discussions on Saturday and Sunday too. In particular, Stephen held a signing for his book The Watch, Thoroughly Revised at the Vacheron Constantin boutique and James hosted a panel about the influence of social media in the watch world. Saturday night we hosted a meet-up and spotted a ton of cool watches on your wrists too. Capping things off on Sunday morning was the Miami Design District Concours, which brought out hundreds of die-hard car enthusiasts to check out the mix of vintage classics and modern super cars.
Enjoy the photo report below and we hope to see you next year down in Miami!
