The Football Association have moved the kick off time for the 2017 Community Shield to avoid a possible clash with the final of the women’s European Championships.
FA Cup winners Arsenal and Premier League champions Chelsea were scheduled to play each other at 3pm Sunday, August 6.
That time has, however, been moved to 2pm, with the Euro 2017 final kicking of at 5pm.
Mark Sampson’s England are expected to reach final but will first have to overcome the Netherlands in Thursday’s semi-final.
Neither Arsenal nor Chelsea objected to the change of time while BT, who will broadcast the Wembley clash, were consulted before the decision was made.
